OVERWHELMING NAUSEA & VOMITING IN PREGNANY
FOR MORE THAN 14% OF WOMEN, NAUSEA AND VOMITING
IN PREGNANCY IS NOT JUST MORNING SICKNESS
Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP) exists on a spectrum ranging from mild to severe, with those suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) experiencing the most extreme of symptoms.
Unlike those with morning sickness, people with severe NVP or HG generally have inadequate food or fluid much of the time and struggle to participate in their normal activities. And many pregnant women with severe symptoms also feel overwhelmed by the physical and emotional impact of NVP and HG, which impacts every aspect of daily life.

You are not alone.
TIMELY CARE REDUCES THE RISKS FOR BOTH YOU AND YOUR BABY

Prolonged dehydration, weight loss, and nutrient deficiencies can increase the risk of complications including:

Potential Fetal Complications Include:
- Pre-term birth8
- Low birth weight and shorter length8
- Learning disability8
- Congenital heart issues8
- Neurodevelopmental challenges9
Research suggests that mothers at the greatest risk appears are those who have lost more weight loss, more severe symptoms, and/or who fail to gain weight for two consecutive trimesters.
Recognizing the symptoms early and seeking timely care helps to reduce these risks.
